Cafe Asgard in Seebad Bansin

I promised me a lot about the café because I've heard a lot about it, but honestly I have to say that it didn't knock me out at all. The staff totally noticed the stress. You were very impatient, you almost rolled your eyes at times, when I was looking for the toilet, I was noticed but obviously left to myself. What we ordered was fine. But overall I had the impression of a mass processing. I had the impression that I was more of a nuisance than welcome. And that's really bitter for a café. I think the café mainly draws on its reputation for being the oldest café on the island.

We are always enthusiastic about this gem on the promenade, have eaten there often and always delicious. The service is friendly and attentive, the ambience under the trees is very romantic and inviting, we will definitely come back

Food is good, cakes are no longer homemade. The style has been lost with the new owners (the many beautiful old photos are missing, for example).

Negative: unfortunately we had to wait a long time. The hot white chocolate just tasted like vanilla pudding ... Positive: the cake was very tasty, pleasant atmosphere and nice conditions

today's visit very disappointing. Bad-tempered lady at the cake counter, I can't help it if you can't read the cake signs and assign them incorrectly and then have to ask several times! The seating outside, well, the fake flower arrangements, but the coffee was ok. Too bad.

Very traditional café and restaurant. Great cakes, a rustic ambience and everything very charming and "normal". Rarity and a real gem in this otherwise very touristy area.

Food and staff ok. Restaurant furnished like grandma’s living room. Older songs are played quietly in the background.

Very, very tasty food! The tarte flambée are particularly recommended. Very nice atmosphere. Only the tables are a little too small. Otherwise I always like to come back.

Were there for dinner today. Can not be recommended. Schnitzel Hawaii was prepared in the deep fryer and then gratinated, totally dry. Everything arranged very carelessly. 😢 Maybe guests should only come to the restaurant once 🤔

Service friendly, the rest, well. Frozen food thawed and warmed up, at least at No. 332. The store really needs to be overhauled! The cards look like in 1990. If you don't complain here, you will always endure the same inconsequential here. Sorry

This is the fourth time I've been there in 12 years and I was pretty disappointed. It's dirty, cobwebs in many corners. The toilets leave a lot to be desired. Opposite the cake buffet, it looks like the storage room. It should have stayed at the cafe and not turned into a restaurant. Since the history in the map says in GDR times it would have been run down, something similar is happening now. A flat screen does not belong in the ambience of 1920. The menu, ice cream cards etc. are greasy. The furniture is already suffering from the large number of guests, but something could have been done during the long closing time due to Corona. Coffee and cake were good. Unfortunately, the good reputation that precedes the café has not remained much. Far from a café atmosphere 😢

A retro style restaurant. Nice environment. It makes you think of the past time. Very nice service staff is friendly. You will have the opportunity to watch the ocean while enjoying good food. We will come back in any case!

Food ok but nothing special either. Prices ok too. Service good, quick and friendly. Tables are small, with four people there is little space for plates. No minimum distance to the neighboring tables. The Kaiser vegetables at the schnitzel looked and tasted like a frozen ready-made product. Last year I had a plaice there that was delicious.

You can sit outside and have the sea in front of your nose. But that's it. The food was gross. Probably prepared in the morning and then warmed up in the microwave in the evening. Nice Polish girls came to serve, the Germans to cash in ... I would never go there again. From the outside it looks so inviting ...

The food was very good. We loved the man at the front desk. He had things under control and the staff was on their toes. You have to bring a little time with you if you want to have a table there

The decor is beautiful, if you like this era and the taste of fashion. But unfortunately I have to subtract stars, because nothing was made at home, except maybe the boiled potatoes. The beetroot came out of the glass, the cream ring was all in identical sized and shaped pieces, the accompanying cream sauce tasted of industry. I can smack such a meal myself at home for a fraction of the price.

The reception, the service and the ambience were very cold, we didn't feel comfortable here. We ordered coffee and cake. Both were delicious, but served on dirty dishes and the napkin was probably yellowed (?) From previous use. We didn't stay here long.

As a restaurateur, this place is incredible for us. Long lines ... because the staff is grateful for every guest who leaves ... the ladies look beyond everything that means work ... terrible! The food was actually not bad, but the service makes us ashamed.

Very friendly and quick service in high season. No matter whether at coffee time or for dinner. You really have to visit Café Asgard on a Bansin holiday, if only because of its ambience and history. The interior is highly recommended. Only the toilets should definitely be on the list for the next modernization. The coffee tastes good, the cake is awesome. There are also discount promotions that change daily. Tip: try the plaice! 5 stars from me because everything is right here.

This café/restaurant is located in a very atmospheric historic building. Although the meal turned out to be rather nice, the café failed to live up to its reputation. My experience was marred by the rude and unhelpful staff who seemed to regard paying customers as a nuisance. The café also appeared to be suffering from severe staff shortages, causing excessive wait times.
